Establish a Skill Development and Training Centre
Empowering Youth and Women Through Skills and Opportunities
Resources Development Institution (RDI), a charitable organization based in Jorhat, Assam, aims to establish a comprehensive Skill Development and Training Centre to empower underprivileged youth, women, unemployed individuals, small and marginal farmers, and rural artisans.
The centre will provide practical, employment-oriented training that helps individuals develop valuable skills, improve their livelihoods, and become financially independent. By combining vocational education, entrepreneurship development, and digital learning, RDI seeks to create sustainable opportunities for individuals and families in rural communities.
Why This Initiative Matters
Many rural communities face challenges such as unemployment, limited access to vocational training, low household income, and a lack of opportunities to develop marketable skills. Women, young people, and economically weaker families are often particularly affected.
A dedicated training centre can help bridge this gap by providing accessible learning opportunities, practical knowledge, and guidance for employment and self-employment.
Our Key Objectives
Vocational Skill Development: Provide practical training in relevant trades and income-generating activities.
Youth Empowerment: Equip unemployed and underprivileged youth with skills that improve their employment prospects.
Women's Empowerment: Help women develop professional abilities, confidence, and opportunities for financial independence.
Digital Literacy: Introduce computer education, digital tools, and emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence.
Entrepreneurship Development: Support aspiring entrepreneurs in developing small businesses and self-employment activities.
Rural Livelihood Development: Encourage local enterprises, handicrafts, agriculture-related activities, and sustainable livelihood opportunities.
Planned Training Activities
The proposed centre will aim to offer training programmes based on community needs and available resources. These may include computer fundamentals, digital literacy, basic AI awareness, vocational skills, handicrafts, entrepreneurship, agricultural technology, organic farming, and small-business management.
Participants will be encouraged to apply their learning through practical exercises, project-based activities, and guidance on employment or self-employment opportunities.
Who Will Benefit?
The initiative is intended to benefit unemployed youth, women from economically weaker families, small and marginal farmers, rural artisans, school leavers, and individuals seeking to improve their professional skills.
Special attention will be given to making training accessible to underserved communities and encouraging participation from people who have limited access to formal skill development opportunities.
Expected Impact
Through this initiative, RDI aims to strengthen local skills, improve employability, encourage entrepreneurship, support women's economic participation, and promote sustainable rural development.
The long-term goal is to help individuals build confidence, increase their earning potential, and contribute to the social and economic progress of their communities.
